Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy
The EMSLIBS 2021 takes place 20 years after the first edition. We are very excited to have the opportunity to host this conference, and we would like to acknowledge all previous organizers that have made this symposium into one of the greatest LIBS scientific events.
Below, you can see a brief list of all previous editions with access to the special issues that were published.
The last edition that has been held is the jubilee 10th EMSLIBS that took place in Brno (Czech Republic) from September 8 to 13. It was organized and held in Brno (Czech Republic) by a collaboration between LIBS groups from Brno University of Technology, Masaryk University, Central European Institute of Technology and the Ioannes Marcus Spectroscopic Society.
The chosen location for the 9th edition of EMSLIBS was Pisa (Italy). It was held together with the CSI XL (XL Colloquium Spectroscopicum Internationale, one of the most relevant Analytical Spectroscopy meetings), including joint sessions, from June 11 to 16. The organization was led by Vicenzo Palleschi and Alessandro D’Ulivo (EMSLIBS and CSI, respectively) and coordinated by Stefano Legnaioli (CSI-EMSLIBS Secretary).
The city of Linz (Austria) was host for the 8th EMSLIBS from September 14 to 18. The symposioum was organized by the Institute of Applied Physics at Johanes Kepler University Linz and counted with the support of Masaryks University Brno’s Department of Chemistry (Czech Republic) as well as the University of Vienna’s Department of Physical Chemistry.
The 7th edition of the EMSLIBS was in Bari (Italy) and it took place from September 16 to 20.
The 6th EMLIBS was held in the city of Çeşme-Izmir (Turkey) from September 11 to 15. The organizer of the event was the Chemistry Department of Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH).
The 5th edition of the EMSLIBS took place in Tivoly Terme (Rome, Italy) from September 28 to October 1.
That year, the symposium was held in Paris (France) from September 10 to 13. It was organized by the Research Group on Nanosecond Laser Applications (PLANI) at CEA, Saclay, France.
The third EMSLIBS was held from September 6 to 9 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (Aachen, Germany) and organized by the same Fraunhofer ILT. An article about EMSLIBS 2005 was published by Reinhard Noll and Ulrich Panne in the Analytical And Bioanalytical Chemistry journal.
The symposium was then organized in Hersonissos (Crete, Greece) from September 30 to October 3. It was organized by IESL-FORTH (Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser).
The first time that the Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy was held, it was in the city of Cairo, (Egypt). It took place from November 2 to 6. The organizers were the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science (NILES), Cairo University and the Optical Society of America (OSA).
